AEDM Day 2

Here’s my AEDM Day 2. I wasn’t happy with the two books I did yesterday so I pulled them part and added two more folios to each signature. They are a little more sturdy now. I made two more books today and that should take care of of what I need for a while.I added more folios to the pink and blue book before I stitched it and the larger 5×7 book has 140lb watercolor paper so that book definitely did not need more paper.

So here are the four of them together.

Plein Air and Inktober

Here is today’s plein air painting. My friend Joan and I went to a farm/produce stand in Eastport. When I realized that I could be losing my subjects due to sale, I had to quickly get them done before they went bye-bye. The skinny yellow one in the back had this huge stem for such a skinny pumpkin. The owner and staff were baking on the premises and OMIGOD it smelled awesome.

Plein air and Inktober

This is a plein air study I did today and my Inktober (Day 27) submissions are the three thumbnails done in, you guessed it, ink. I am submitting them because although they aren’t the glamorous ink counterparts, thumbnail studies are the tugboat of the art world….they are small, look insignificant but they pull a heavy load by being a supporting cast to a finished painting. As you can see if he three studies, my first visions of the painting I had in mind changed with the third thumbnail and I liked it so much it became the finished product.
