This evening I attended a Book Arts Class. It was a fun and I learned some new approaches. The instructor was also a librarian, so it made it nice to be in the company of people who also love books. I also had the pleasure of meeting, in person, people who follow me on social media.
Someone asked me how many sketchbooks I have completed….the answer is over 40. I have at least 8 of various sizes and paper types that I work in regularly and are currently in different stage of completion. I frequently go back and pull one off the shelf to use for a reference.
Here is the sketch (Sktchy) I did today and the little long stitch book I made.

I have this small sketchbook that I have been trying to fill up. I am going to try to fill it up by New year’s Eve. I have about 50 pages to fill so this is a bit of a challenge I have put upon myself, on top of everything else I have been working on.
This sketch is based on a vintage photo that was submitted to Sktchy by Valerie C.
The Santa sketch is based in the Sktchy submission by Danny Meyer. I saw that beard and it screamed “Santa” to me.
Enjoy these, more to come…..

I thought I would take a minute to post some sketches of Chloe that I did earlier this evening….sketching any living thing is tough, even when sleeping, because they frequently change positions and my Chloe isn’t trained to be a mannequin. These aren’t polished sketches, they are sketches that I do for drills.

Sorry I am just getting to sending this out. I almost forgot to post this. I did manage to be creative today, spending a few minutes to do this turkey in the studio while roasting the turkey that went on my table.
I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and I hope you had a great day.

“Sktchy Book of Horror”. This is the front cover of my Homemade sketchbook. I just have the back cover to do and it will be complete. The reason I didn’t follow the reference image completely is I wanted to use the wonderful makeup as a guide to decorate the skull collage that I had originally used as the cover and incorporated everything for the final piece.
All I have left is the back cover.
