Today’s sketch 

Today I regressed back to an old friend from the ’60’s. I figured “Make Love, Not War” should be an slogan for the entire planet and still has meaning today. We are all beings on the same planet. Stop hurting each other and accept people for who they are.

I was saving this moon for Halloween and then Inspiration hit me……. Titled “Love, Actually”
The second one, I had more work to do, but the  musicians packed up and left 

The third one is of the ribbon cutting ceremony of the newly renovated Carnegie Library. I sketched it during the ceremony.

Today’s sketch

This weekend was Work In Progress weekend where we show our process….or in my case, one of my processes because I don’t always use pencil to lay in my sketch, sometimes I just grab a pen and hope for the best. Anyway, I started with pencil, carefully drew in the ink with a Sumi brush pen, and then I use a waterbrush for the values. Then I tweaked everything with a white pen and white colored pencil.

Gouache and colored pencil. The sketchbook I am using is a custom made Innovative SOUL Journal filled with Arches Text Wove paper. Hubby got it for me for Mother’s Day.
