And 88 days until Spring!

Today is the Winter Solstice. The shortest day of the year. I record the sunrise and sunsets for each day and there is a holding pattern where the daylight is about the same for about a week, give or take a minute, then we will start gaining back one to two minutes a day.
We have rain today. Just as well because we got about 2 inches of rain which could have been 20 inches of snow. So we don’t have a white Christmas so far but if you do have snow, have some fun with it!

And the panic is starting to set in for the procrastinators…..here’s day 5.
Also, someone has a birthday today! Our little niblet, Mack, is 8 today! He was trying to see out the front door so he could maintain his “protect the realm” duties. I also added a photo of both sentries on duty.

Old man Winter Kitty….. he arrives officially on Friday.

Read the “Grinch Who Stole Christmas” by Dr Suess.
Kitty dressed up as a Grinch and will cuddle on the couch and purr while listening to the Grinch.

The great thing about decorating for Christmas is we have tons of inspiration around the house. I walked into the living room and a Christmas angel waved her hand and asked me to use her as a kitty today. So I walked back into my studio and here is today’s kitty:

9 days before Christmas, take a walk, in the snow of you have it, or in a park. Get some fresh air. Bundle up and see what nature has to offer at Christmastime.

Not to be confused with the 12 days of Christmas, which comes after Christmas and ends on the Feast of the Epiphany, this is a 12 day count down of some fun activities to do before Christmas.

Start wrapping your gifts….preferably with friends.
