The Oddities Room
Back in 2017, I did a sketchbook dedicated to what I called “zombie dolls.” I had used acrylic craft paint in that sketchbook to create my pages. They are probably searchable here on my blog.
The initial inspiration was a doll my aunt had. My aunt had accused my sisters and I of losing the tear that was in her dolls eye. (Wasn’t us) Many years later I painted that doll in my sketchbook as a Zombie, as a form of revenge lol.
I tried a whole bunch of ideas for this prompt and came across photos of my Zombie doll sketchbook. I pulled it off the shelf and “voila!” Instant oddities room lol.
Since this version is in watercolor, I had to do a different technique for the background. I was thinking dark museum walls so I did a blend for the background wall.
Many of the dolls in the original sketchbook were inspired by my daughter’s dolls or some porcelain ones I had. And of course the one my aunt used to have.
