Awesome photo….I still have ideas for this one….nice flea bitten gray….couldn’t tell what the base color was so I winged it and leaned toward bay in my splatters….

Art Before Breakfast

Art Before Breakfast “Tiny Bundle of Energy” and hey! I am back to drawing before Breakfast again! The past couple of weeks have been non-stop so it’s good to be able to start my day with Sktchy. As some of you already know, I am owned by Chihuahuas so I am very familiar with their nature. This photo cracked me up because although this little guy is on his side, the light in his eye tells the truth of the impish mischief that is ready to spring at any time. My lines were deliberate to foretell the energy these wonderful little dogs have. Great photo!Inspired by Sktchy

Out on the beach this evening….

Technical difficulties with extreme humidity. The paper was so saturated that I couldn’t put in any details…plus all 

of my subjects packed up and left. I should have sketched the party group. They were still there when we left.

Artist Trading Cards

We had an Artist Trading Card night at one of our local artist organizations…..I did 12 Sktchy 5 minute portraits for the trade. This was an awesome exercise for me. I frequently sketch at places like Starbucks, but Sktchy is chock full of great inspiration. Enjoy!

Today’s sketch 

Tried something different…..I primarily use pens to draw my subjects. This time I used a brush and Burnt Umber watercolor. I want to draw more with a brush instead of always relying on a pen.
