Today’s kitty

Today’s sketch was actually done yesterday because I knew I would be on the road today and probably wouldn’t get a kitty done today.

Read on….

Today we started the task of cleaning out Mom’s house. She has a lot of stuff. John and I brought three containers thinking we’s get most of Mom’s Halloween decorations in there. We were wrong. I am not going through a whole laundry list of what mom has. She has too much stuff and now that she has downsized, we need to get rid of stuff.

I saw something in the AARP magazine saying that we need to get rid of stuff and only keep what is really special to us. If we can’t part with stuff now, our family members will have no problem with parting with it after we are gone. Hmmm. Maybe I need to have a yard sale for my own stuff.

This week’s doodles and today’s kitty

Here is my week long doodles. I do one a day. It only takes a few minutes to do one and it has become part of my morning routine. Most times, what I am doodling is what happened the day before, unless I post about the weather.

Here is today’s kitty. This one is an imaginary kitty that I used the three primary colors, brown and added some white and black.

Mom and her kitties

As I am typing this, I realized that I forgot to take pix of Mom with her two cats. I sketch her cats from memory, photos would help. Oh well, next trip. Anyway, no sketches of cats today since we were there to visit Mom. Instead, I am posting photos of mom with her kitty postcards.

Mom has been getting her little postcard cats. She doesn’t always remember to go to her mailbox. When we checked today, she had 6 cards she hadn’t retrieved. I took pictures of her opening her cards and later, after we took her out for lunch, we hung her cards for her on the wall on little clotheslines. She loves her postcards. I know there are still a few on the way. We left her the little clothesline clips to hang more cats.

For close friends and family, I want to let you know, Mom’s memory is getting worse. She knows it. If you are planning a visit, don’t wait. Put it on your immediate “to do” list.
