Inktober Week 2

Here are my Inktober sketches for Days 8 – 14:

It’s Inktober…….again. Like an endless loop on Groundhog Day. I am a week behind with my postings but that’s ok because I figured it’s easier on your in boxes, lol. I am working on three simultaneous daily tasks. These are done every day just to keep the creative juices flowing. One is my daily postcardContinue reading “Inktober Week 1”

Morning Page

Every morning I do a page spread like this. I first learned about it from Carla Sonheim when she introduced us to The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. Carla showed us how she did a page in her sketchbook and over the years I have tweaked it to fit my needs. I took my timeContinue reading “Morning Page”

Infinite Sketch

I signed up to participate in the Sketchbook Project’s “Infinite Sketch.” You get a 6×9 postcard with some art supplies and you create a segment of a creature that will connect to another artists’ segment, and so on. One artist gets selected for the head and another gets the butt. I’m somewhere in the middleContinue reading “Infinite Sketch”

Painting au jour

Here is another recent painting for your viewing pleasure….. It’s a collage/mixed media piece. 12×16 Here is a quick sketch I did this morning using the Sktchy app on iPhone. The young man had a scrunched up face and it made me laugh. He was sketched in a drawing box that I have reserved inContinue reading “Painting au jour”

The process of kitty

Here are some of of the kitties I drew before finding the one I liked. The large one circled in yellow and then trying it out on a smaller piece of paper. And one sketchbook page using that kitty shape….

New Year’s Eve

Here are two more sketches and some of my favorite kitties using the Sktchy App for reference photos. 2018 turned out to be the Year of the Cat for me with my mom going into assisted Living and using that as a side project, creating a postcard a day for her. Thanks to all ofContinue reading “New Year’s Eve”

Cat sketches

My husband and I are taking a holiday break, so I will be posting cat sketches for a few days. Here are 4 pages from my sketch book. This sketchbook is for raw ideas and raw sketches. These aren’t polished works, they are where that polished art gets hatched. I scribble and doodle until IContinue reading “Cat sketches”

Fat cat ornament

Sketched at our local sketch night.

Little witch and kitty

(I almost left the poor little witch and her kitty in pilgrim land). The little witch was able to return from early America with the help of a witch who’s been dodging Salem witch hunters. The little witch used her historical knowledge of the time period to give the early American witch some useful informationContinue reading “Little witch and kitty”
