Today is Inktober Day 13 and the prompt is “kind.” I almost pulled out a KIND bar for this one. We have two different types of Kind Bars in the closet and my first thought was to sketch one of them. It would have been fun. I can still do it even though I alreadyContinue reading “Inktober Day 13”

Inktober Day 12
Whew! Day 12! Almost halfway through the month. Wow, October is blazing by! Today’s prompt, “forget,” was a little tough since the concept could be a little abstract or could be an expression or even a verb action. This one almost stumped me a little. I had to give this one some thought about howContinue reading “Inktober Day 12”
Inktober Day 10
Well I made it to Day 10. Happy Monday Everyone. Today’s prompt is crabby. I went for the crustacean although I imagine some folks may go with a cranky person. I am fond of crabs, both watching them in nature, and the consumption of the Blue Claw persuasion. We used to catch blue claws whenContinue reading “Inktober Day 10”
Inktober Day 9
Happy Sunday! We are up to Day 9 of the Inktober Challenge and today’s prompt is Nest. I opted for the bird’s nest interpretation of the prompt. There are a lot of interesting bird nests out there, but some of the more quirkiest nests are from birds that aren’t real, but imagined. This is oneContinue reading “Inktober Day 9”
Inktober Day 8
It’s the eighth day of the Inktober Challenge and today’s prompt is “match.” Now I have to admit, the first thing I thought of to skate by this one was to draw a match stick and be done with it. That was a pretty simple solution. OK, I could have sketched a pack of matchesContinue reading “Inktober Day 8”
Horse
Another project that I have been working on is horse illustrations/art. Something I did a long time ago that I picked up again just recently. We used to own racehorses and I would sit in the paddock and sketch the horses as they were getting tacked up and harnessed for races. A lot of theContinue reading “Horse”
Inchies Day 10
This is Day 10 of the Inchie Challenge with two days to go. Today’s prompt is “eclipse.” When I first saw the prompt. I thought of a bunch of little partially covered moons, but I also thought of a “man in the moon” concept and the “man” bemused that his light was being blocked byContinue reading “Inchies Day 10”
Inchies Day 5
Today’s Inchie Prompt is “simple.” I used some of my “blob” drawings as inspiration for some simple character sketches using my Zig pen and a waterbrush.
American Cream Draft
Day 2 World Watercolor Month. This is an American draft horse breed that is also a color breed. This is a mix of watercolor and gouache.
World Watercolor month
There is a challenge going on called World Watercolor Month. There is a list of prompts and all that but you aren’t required to use the list. I haven’t done this challenge in previous years but since I am in the middle of working on a project that is a mix of watercolor and gouache,Continue reading “World Watercolor month”
