sketch pattern to stuffed doll

Here is the stuffed version of my Coco Moloko using what I had around my studio. I thought about going to buy glittery fabric for the frosting, or even just getting another color for the frosting and a different pink for the feet, but in the end I just used what I had in the studio. There are some things I would tweak if I made another one of these. Plus I would explore how to make other flavors. LOL

I also took Coco’s photo with the two kitties I made last year around Halloween. Both kitties were made from homemade patterns that I have been experimenting with.

The second part of the assignment was to create a toy idea for the donut character, Coco Moloko by Zoë Tucker. I started to create a small sculpture and then went back and reread the assignment and it said STUFFED. Drat. I quickly drew this using Procreate and then I proceeded to make a doll which I finished yesterday.

Here is the digital pattern design. I did make a more detailed version for making my doll, but this is the simplified version.

Found

Hubby and I were out walking and came upon a tree that looked like it had washed out avocados hanging from it. Turns out, it was a mahogany tree. We were awed at the beauty of the tree and the rarity of its wood.

An older woman gave us cuttings from the tree and told us to root them. She told us how old her tree was. I secretly thanked the tree for the cuttings.

I found one of the pods on the ground and it popped open this afternoon, seeds spilling out.

I’ll try planting the seeds, as well.
