Ok, this is my first time offering free art. I did this on Procreate for my mom and then I printed it out on cardstock and colored it in and mailed it to her. She probably won’t see it for a while. They are holding her mail a little bit to disinfect it then they’llContinue reading “A coloring kitty”

Sketches from this week
Occasionally I like to go out sketching with a group. Since I moved to Florida this past autumn, I haven’t had the chance to get out out to sketch with any local groups. Then the corona virus hit so I guess it will be a while before I do that again. However, all is notContinue reading “Sketches from this week”
Latest sketches etc….
My head has been all over the place. The “Virus Roulette” has me terrified. My past experiences with “upper respiratory” infections usually wind up with me pretty sick and on a course of antibiotics for secondary infections. I have been exercising daily, eating better and cutting sugar from my diet trying to make myself asContinue reading “Latest sketches etc….”

Chincoteague Map

It was featured many years ago, in the story “Misty of Chincoteague” by Marguerite Henry. She wrote several books featuring Misty and this charming island. MistyContinue reading “Chincoteague Map”
So I took a class…..
I took a class to learn how to build up my portfolio for editorial work. It was a good class. I stepped out of my comfort zone and did the class projects on Procreate. I prefer to use the good old fashioned way to create art but wanted to see what I could do withContinue reading “So I took a class…..”
Cat morphing into cow
Yesterday’s photos are raw cat. Today’s photos show the gradual progression to cow. I still have to add udders, a collar and cow bell and eyelashes. Then I have to tweak and sand it. I am trying to keep the sanding to a minimum. The Magic Sculpt dries like concrete. It’s amazing stuff. I tweakedContinue reading “Cat morphing into cow”
And my current project is….
A Catskill Cat. Every year Catskill, NY had about 50 cats on display that are fiberglass molds that artists convert to all sorts of amazing cat art. My Cow Kitty design was selected and I am in the process of converting this cat into a cow. As you can see, I am still working outContinue reading “And my current project is….”
