Kitty is enjoying another round of fireworks!

I thought this is appropriate because I am sure tonight will be the Eve of the annual fireworks armageddon.
Today is the day that the Constitutional Congress voted for independence. The Declaration was dated July 4 so it became the official date. I guess you can say today is pre-independence day.
Kitty was there to ensure that a cat clause gets added.

June was a full month preparing for my sketch club’s show, Arts on Terry, Father’s Day, etc and it all ended today.
This weekend was the reception “It takes a Village”, where two of my sketches were juried into that show, held at Roast Coffee and Tea House, (a PAC sponsored venue) in Patchogue. Several sketchers have pieces in the show and it looked great!
Here is my sketch of Mademoiselle Patisserie, one of the two. I did a smaller sketch with a cat back in the beginning of June, this one is approx 6×9, minus the kitty.

Another show that went up last week is PAC’s juried member show, “Patchworks,” where my submission, “Nod to O’Keeffe” was accepted into that show as well.
This is an abstract sketchbook that I worked on in between everything else. The idea grew from a smaller project and I just kept going with it until I had a full piece. I was really excited about it getting accepted.

Also ending today is my weekly doodle page for the week.
Lastly, today’s postcard, inspired by a kitty John and I saw on Friday. He was out on a hunting expedition on a rock jetty. He went all the way out until he found some goodies. This is him on the way back….we couldn’t believe he went all the way out. The seagulls all left when they saw him coming.
Here’s another kitty I made as a stamp/lino cut.

My sketchbooks are full of all sorts of fodder. For instance, I have a pages of cats that I did a long time ago. I have been pulling ideas from these pages and doing several things with them. The magnets were one idea.
Another idea was to make some stamps from my quirky kitties on one of those pages. So today I pulled out my gear and made a couple of cat stamps. Here is one of them that I used to make into a postcard.

The past several weeks have been busy for me. I am still working on designs for my Zazzle shop. I have out sketching for our “It takes a Village” Sketch Club show. And I was organizing it, rounding the sketchers up so they had opportunities to sketch in Patchogue so they would have something to show. Two of my sketches were accepted into that show by the juror! Yay!
We had Arts on Terry, a street festival for the arts, this past Sunday. I spent time organizing our booth for that event. I also made a bunch of magnets to sell. I may make more of them to sell on Etsy.

I also worked on a piece for the Patchogue Arts Council Show, called Patchworks. I really went out on a limb and did an abstract book to enter into the show. It was something very different for me and it was accepted! Cool! I am really excited about that one.
I will post photos of my pieces on exhibit when I pop into those shows for the receptions.
Lastly, today’s kitty is my interpretation of how Chloe and Mack would get back at our kitty, Cleo….who is in Florida, now. Cleo tortured them unmercifully. Cleo would attack them when they came in through the doggie door. This is their payback, lol.

Carla Marla Round 3 – with a kitty

John and I went down to the bay this evening. This car was perfect for today’s kitty. We parked next to it and I whipped out the pen and postcard sized paper and sketched it. Then I added the kitty.
Ps, It is a 1930-something Ford. Fully restored. It was beautiful.

Here is today’s kitty and my weekly doodle page that forgot to post yesterday. I was pretty exhausted from this weekend and when I got in yesterday all I wanted to do was veg.
