John and I went to Jekyll Island this past weekend to get away and to also celebrate his birthday. It was a spur of the moment decision. The weekend’s forecast for Jensen Beach for this past weekend was high 80’s, possibly hitting 90. We were vegging out and decided on a whim to go exploringContinue reading “Jekyll Island”

Jensen Beach Map
I was playing around in my sketchbook trying to work on some illustration “to do” lists and one of the items on my list is to do more maps. I usually go very project detailed and would post them on They Draw and Travel but sometimes just freeing up my creativity to play in myContinue reading “Jensen Beach Map”
Dog Children and Grieving
Today is the first day that I have been able to sit down and type this. On Monday, January 30, 2023, our beloved Chloe moved on to the Rainbow Bridge. John and I are still trying to make sense of this. One day she was normal and the next, we’re saying good-bye. She was onlyContinue reading “Dog Children and Grieving”
That’s Right WoodChuck Chuckers…
It’s GROUNDHOG DAY! Groundhog Day was always one of those days that you acknowledged but didn’t make much of a fuss about, (unless winter has been an especially cold and snowy one…) until the movie “Groundhog Day” came out. I fell in love with the movie immediately. We even had a VHS version, then aContinue reading “That’s Right WoodChuck Chuckers…”
Friday the 13th
Today is Friday the 13th and I decided to play around with my Arteza brush pens. I used a sketchbook made out of the Arches Text Wove paper which can be a little temperamental for using the brush pens. Black cats are not bad luck so I thought this kitty would be purrfect for today….
Carve December – Day 31
Yeah, today is the final day! Here is today’s stamp, which is inspired by my three flowering aloes. I never knew Aloes got flowers and mine must be pretty frisky because they keep flowering multiple times a year! I also took a photo of all of the stamps (all 31 of them!) and it’s niceContinue reading “Carve December – Day 31”
Carve December Day 30
Another nature inspired stamp. We have peacocks that live in the area and they get a little noisy. However, that noose inspired this stamp! Whew! One more day!
Carve December Day 29
I am really excited about today’s stamp. I just randomly drew the design based on my roses. I was thinking “rose hips” and voila! Here’s my design! I am also really excited that I only have two more stamps to carve, too! It was a tough month compounded by the additional twist of getting sick,Continue reading “Carve December Day 29”
Carve December Day 27
This one surprisingly came out as I had hoped. I originally wanted to cut the shape out but I wanted to get today’s stamp finished with minimal mishaps. I decided to carve the line and I am pretty happy that it has the delicate shape that I was hoping for. Enjoy!
Merry Christmas!
Carve December Day 25 is a nod to Tom Hegg’s poem “A Cup of Christmas Tea.” YouTube has several versions of the author reading his poem. I recommended reading it and/or listening to it. I hope you all get the chance to have that cup of tea, (coffee, cocoa or whatever your warm beverage is)Continue reading “Merry Christmas!”
