Today’s prompt is “large nose.” This is Stuart Goss on The Sktchy App. I hope he doesn’t mind that I took artistic license with his features, lol.

Firefly Two Page Spread
Here is a two page spread from the Firefly story by Zoë Tucker. I started to do the whole spread in color but I really liked the black and white sketch that I did, especially after I blew it up to actual book size. I tweaked the sketch to a final drawing and added theContinue reading “Firefly Two Page Spread”
Happy Mother’s Day
I wish all the Mom’s out there a healthy and Happy Mother’s Day.
Firefly Again
This past week was Poses week. I revamped my character again. I actually like trying different things to see what works. Different approaches, different color palettes. Shake things up a bit. This course is for portfolio building so why not push things harder to see where I can go with it? The color palette forContinue reading “Firefly Again”
Firefly – Expressions
Here is my firefly, Lampy. I was going to put more faces but I like the simplicity of just the 5. From these I can do a range of in between expressions. This is a mixture of traditional and digital work. Enjoy!
Red Bird
It’s Spring and Red loves to share the joy that he feels when the weather begins to warm up. Love is also in the air. I am still working on my illustration course but I actually missed doing my characters so I am squeezing them in.
Chopin
Chopin loves poetry and music. He loves to sing his poetry and will often go outside to sing his poetry to the world.
Joey
Joey loves carrots. He is a Carrot Connoisseur. He has been “relocating” carrots that he “finds” in gardens and plants them in his secret garden.
Darcy the Giraffe
Darcy loves sweets. Standby for more about Darcy….. This is the whole sketchbook spread. I don’t use the opposing page to keep each sketch clean and undamaged. This is a a sketchbook/journal that I bound from a kit from Innovative Journaling. The paper is Arches Text wove and it is very soft and has aContinue reading “Darcy the Giraffe”
More Flowers
I didn’t think I would say this but I am really enjoying this technique. It’s very liberating. No rules, just drawing with the brush pen what I feel the watercolor marks are telling me to do. I may get a few more pages ready in my sketchbook so I can do more. In the meanContinue reading “More Flowers”
