Happy Easter!
Here are some sketches from the past few days:
I signed up for Carla Sonheim’s 365 workshop for 2018. Everyday there is something in your email. A lesson, a prompt, a quote, sometimes an interview with a variety of artists (visual, musicians, literary). I have found that the random pick (two words picked out of a hat) are great for filling that sketch box in my morning pages.
Today the random pick was “kangaroo” and “gift.” Too bad snowboarder wasn’t in that bag instead of “gift.”😂
Today’s prompt also helped me do my #30pages30days prompt, too!
Day 20 #30Pages30Days Today we went to Denny’s for breakfast. It’s my father-in-law’s 89th birthday and he wanted to celebrate with his friends, and get his free breakfast, lol.
This sketchbook is the #Leichtturm1917 I used my Uniball pen and Peerless watercolors. The Leuchtturm1917 is not wet work friendly but I have been making it work.
Playing around with some lettering art and a verse from ELO’s Eldorado.
The temperature is finally in the low ’80’s, it’s the weekend and there is no wind so everyone seems to be going to the beach today. I love Florida, up North everyone is still celebrating St Patty’s Day (it appears to be a month long celebration on Long Island, another reason to abandon ship in March) in Florida, people head outdoors. Gotta Love Florida!
There was this awesome truck on the beach that I had to sketch. I was trying a few things out here, a new sketchbook, a Leuchtturm1917, my watercolor pencils and watercolor and how different media performs in the Leuchtturm1917. This is the first sketch in the Leuchtturm1917, which was given out at the Urban Sketcher Symposium in Chicago. I like the pink cover😎.
We “celebrate” the old fashioned way, we cook/ bake and eat together as a family. My family is basically UK Isles. So I am a little of everything, Brit, Scottish, Irish, etc. My husband doesn’t mind (he’s Italian), there’s Irish Soda bread so as long as there is bread, he’s happy.
And no, I do not drink on St Patrick’s Day. It’s a day where I do a personal, anti drinking protest.
Here is a quick Tombow sketch and I updated Mack’s hat from the previous sketch to add green.
Here are some sketches from yesterday and also today’s “page” for 30 pages 30 days
“Dom” in the first sketch, is my nephew.
…..
The chicken is yesterday’s page.
