This evening, for Paint the Great South Bay, we were given access to a rooftop so we could paint. It was awesome and we had a whole new view to paint. Last Alive After Five of the summer
Tonight brings the summer to a sad close….yes, we still have a little over a week to Labor Day, but tonight was the final AA5 of the summer☹️. This is also the week of Paint the Great South Bay. So far it has rained, I was swarmed by flies and bit by a yellow jacket.Continue reading “Last Alive After Five of the summer”
Happy Valentine’s Day!
In between making sketchbooks, making Valentine’s Day cards and a multitude of other projects, here is my map for Valentine’s Day, which is also up on They Draw and Travel’s website. My favorite candy is Lore’s Chocolates in Philadelphia. But I love See’s and I like Kilwin’s ice cream (their candy isn’t bad either.) See’sContinue reading “Happy Valentine’s Day!”
Fundraiser Painting

Plein air again

It still needs some tweaking if I wanted a polished piece and there is enough informationContinue reading “Plein air again”
Today’s sketches
More goats and people….
Sketching with pastels
So I decided to combine sketching and pastel. I went to the local wild life refuge and sketched goats and an alpaca. I didn’t have any plan in mind except to just try using the pastel sticks to actually draw with them. I liked how these turned out and I think I will go thereContinue reading “Sketching with pastels”
The Artful Flea
Once a month, on second Saturdays, Chincoteague has an arts “flea” market. I wanted to do one more painting before this evening’s wet paint sale so I tackled painting the market. This was a ton of fun! I usually sketch big markets and crowds of people with ink & watercolor, but this time I usedContinue reading “The Artful Flea”
Today’s Chincoteague Paintings
Yesterday I passed a house that had a bunch of mermaids in the yard…..I went back there early this morning and painted the mermaid in the lifeguard chair, then I painted the hanging mermaid this afternoon. Both of these will be available for sale tomorrow evening.
