John and I were watching TV and getting ready to call it a night when something crashed into our windows behind the couch. We froze. John got up to open the door but I cautioned him not to because we have everything from panthers, bears, coyotes, foxes and heaven knows what else living in ourContinue reading “A visitor”

Inchie Challenge
During August, I participated in the Inchie Challenge. Inchies are small 2×2 Art. I like doing these because they can lead to ideas for other work. The ideas for Inchies was started by Amy Maricle and occasionally she’ll host an on-line challenge to encourage people to create these little pieces of art. One thing thatContinue reading “Inchie Challenge”
Live Critter Sunday 8/1
These two photos are sort of a seek and find. Look very carefully at each photo. That’s not a cable or hose in that cactus outside of our window. This guy is about three feet long. He’s a black racer. Not a venomous snake, he’s a handy fellow in the garden to assist with pestContinue reading “Live Critter Sunday 8/1”

Yeah, she’s weird looking and could potentially be scary But looks are often deceiving, aren’t they? This is an Artist Trading Card sized art.Continue reading “Jenny”

Just hatched this morning, everything was new to Carmella. She looked down at her feet. “Wow, what are those? Can I eat them?“ This is an Artist Trading Card sized art. ATCs are traded between artists and they have to be 2.5 x 3.5 in. I prepped a few ATC sized pieces because I canContinue reading “Carmella”
Morty and Edna
The first time Edna met Morty, she thought he was big and scary.
Where did the bunnies go?
I am happy to say that the bunny sketchbook is full, so I can retire that one to the bookcase shelf. It’s time to move on from bunnies to other creatures. In the mean time, here’s some odd birds…… The green parrot and sapsucker hummingbird were not happy that a bunch of groundhog faeries movedContinue reading “Where did the bunnies go?”
And now for something different…
It was a quiet day in the woods, until Raleigh and Lotus got lost. Carla Sonheim has a book and classes called “Imaginary Creatures”. They’re excellent for finding ways to create creatures from your imagination, or even real ones with personalities you wouldn’t normally thought of on your own.
