Yesterday was such a beautiful day that I had to go out to sketch. I took a ride up to the North Shore of LI to join a group that was painting there. I wanted to mount my little guerrilla box on the tripod but alas, it didn’t come with the tripod adapter mounting plateContinue reading “Sketching out”

Recent sketches out and about
This past Wednesday I went out with my sketch club to sketch at the local bowling alley. Yesterday, I went into the city to sketch with the NYC Urban Sketchers. We were sketching several alleged haunted houses. The first one is a Colonial style home that was once a speakeasy. It is the home ofContinue reading “Recent sketches out and about”

Another painting started

It still needs some tweaking if I wanted a polished piece and there is enough informationContinue reading “Plein air again”

Sketching with pastels
So I decided to combine sketching and pastel. I went to the local wild life refuge and sketched goats and an alpaca. I didn’t have any plan in mind except to just try using the pastel sticks to actually draw with them. I liked how these turned out and I think I will go thereContinue reading “Sketching with pastels”
The Artful Flea
Once a month, on second Saturdays, Chincoteague has an arts “flea” market. I wanted to do one more painting before this evening’s wet paint sale so I tackled painting the market. This was a ton of fun! I usually sketch big markets and crowds of people with ink & watercolor, but this time I usedContinue reading “The Artful Flea”
Today’s Chincoteague Paintings
